The Origin Story
Every great institution starts with a simple idea. Ask Andy started with an even simpler one: what if someone just... answered questions? Not well. Not accurately. Not even helpfully. But with confidence. Unearned, unshakable confidence.
Andy was born with the gift of having opinions about everything and expertise in approximately nothing. As a child, when other kids were learning useful skills, Andy was practicing his "hmm, interesting question" face in the mirror.
Professional Background
Andy's resume is technically impressive if you don't read it too carefully. Highlights include:
- Graduated from the University of Somewhere (probably)
- Former employee of at least one company
- Has used a computer before
- Once fixed a printer by turning it off and on again
- Can type with most of his fingers
- Has strong opinions about tabs vs. spaces (won't tell you which)
Personal Life
When Andy isn't ignoring your questions, he enjoys long walks to the refrigerator, competitive napping, and telling people he's "really into hiking" despite only hiking once in 2019.
Andy lives somewhere on Earth with an undisclosed number of houseplants, most of which are in various stages of neglect. He describes his cooking style as "adventurous" — his smoke detector describes it as "frequent."
Philosophy
Andy believes that every question deserves an answer, even if that answer is wildly incorrect. His guiding principle: "It's not about being right. It's about being first." This philosophy has served him well in exactly zero situations.
He also firmly believes that if you ask enough questions, eventually you'll forget what the original problem was. And isn't that a solution in itself?
